The Society

Bengal Organ Donation Society (BODS) is an umbrella organization dedicated to promoting organ donation, particularly cadaver organ donation, across Eastern India. Established in 2015, the society has been working relentlessly to spread awareness and encourage individuals and families to support the life saving cause of organ donation.

Through continuous efforts by our dedicated doctors, volunteers, and supporters, West Bengal has secured a prominent place on the organ donation map of India.

Our vision is to create a society where organ donation is widely understood, accepted, and practiced, ensuring that no life is lost due to the lack of a life saving organ.

Bengal Organ Donation Society envisions a future where every individual recognizes organ donation as an act of humanity that transcends religion, caste, and social boundaries, giving hope and life to those waiting for transplants.

Extreme hardwork done by team BODS(Bengal Organ Donation Society) specially by Comd V M Swamiji, President and Vireshji General Secretary, BODS …..Being the Chairman of BODS, I must convey my gratitude to team Fortis, mentored by Dr K M Mandana sir(Cardiac Surgeon, who performed the 1st heart transplant in eastern India) for providing us the every logistics and the Venue….Also BODS is extremely grateful to other dignitaries including Dr Plaban Mukherjee sir, Dr T K Ghosh Sir, Dr Partho Bhattacharya sir …for their valuble inputs..

Presence of Mr Ashish ji (CEO, Fortis), Ms Nibedita ji (CEO, ILS) and friends from mediahouse were very much encouraging….

Lastly a big thank to the donor families for coming and encouraging us even in their difficult time..

On the occasion of Organ Donation Day, Prof. (Dr) Indrajeet Kumar Tiwary along with Dr Saurabh Kolley and other members of Bengal Organ Donation Society (BODS) attended the CME on Organ Donation at Diamond Harbor Medical College and Hospital .Being the Chairman of BODS, Prof. (Dr) Indrajeet Kumar Tiwary is very much thankful to the respected Principal sir Prof Utpal Dan, MSVP Sir Prof Tanmay Kanti Panja, Dr Devdutta, Dr Subhrojyoti sir and other officials of DHMCH for organizing such a huge beautiful scientific CME on such a relevant topic of Organ Donation.

Awareness session on Organ Donation at Kolkata Police Auditorium. Got a chance to meet the real heroes who are always with us in this movement particularly making a greencoridor for organ transport and delivered my thought process.
